In “It’s a Deal”, a look back discloses that popular personality Alastor the Radio Demon was a serial killer in his mortal days. Being aware he was destined for Hell, he established communication with the realm beyond beforehand to secure a powerful role in Hell. The charismatic leader, who leads the cannibal faction in Hell, vowed Alastor he would become “the most powerful Condemned Soul in Hell” in exchange for his soul.

This prompts the question: In what way is this character powerful enough to elevate Alastor above all other Demonic Sinners?

“The Rosie and Alastor deal is the first stepping stone in a larger narrative that involves so much, leading into the third season,” the showrunner states. “Clearly that is an excellent question: How is she so strong? The solution could be many things, but the revelation is in season 3. I'm very excited for people to see it.”

The studios have approved seasons 3 and 4, but the showrunner often remarks that animation is a slow, lengthy process, and subsequent seasons are undated. Still, she says withholding on specific information is an important part of maintaining the second season's attention where it belongs.

Mysteries Resolved in The Next Season

The creator promises that season 3 will address the queries fans have been posing, like why Rosie commanded Alastor to vanish for a seven-year period, which weakened his power in the infernal realm.

“The entire seven-year span, and the pacts these individuals are doing, and everything — it contributes to a bigger narrative,” she reveals.

Meanwhile, the origin story episode provides another glimpse into what the main characters of Demonic Sinners appeared as as humans, following after seeing Sir Pentious’ Victorian-era mortal appearance in episode 2. She explains that a lot of thought went into the visual creation of these forms.

“The human versions of these personas carry so much weight,” she says. “They vary from appearing really different from their infernal version to looking almost identical. With the first character, the first one we see, there was some internal discussion internally between choosing something that represents the character, versus going with an option that's historically correct. We leaned toward making something that just seemed like it was him.”

She mentions the biggest debate over Pentious’ human design was his lengthy locks: “We were like, ‘No one typically had long hair like that in that historical period.’ But simultaneously, we believe the silhouette is so important, and we also just felt he looked good. We were like, ‘This just feels right.’ We kind of provided the rationale that he lived in seclusion, so he just allowed his hair to lengthen. So there's always a way. As we design the human versions of these characters […] it is a very enjoyable process to investigate and figure out. I am looking forward for fans to view additional of the appearances of the human versions.”
