The Music Icon Embraces a Twisted Persona of Her Own Identity in Mockumentary Preview

Charli XCX is getting ready for a significant film appearance in 2026, kicking off with the satirical film titled The Moment.

In the film, she portrays what she calls as a twisted version of her own persona.

It’s the most authentic portrayal of the music industry that I’ve ever witnessed, the star commented.

She clarified in a conversation: It’s far from a live performance documentary, however the inspiration came from the pressure to produce one.

An Early Look into The Film

The debut trailer, released on this week, mixes real clips from her recent tour with imagined off-stage interactions.

The film is overseen and co-authored by her collaborator, who shared that the story centers on a reality where the artist made entirely different choices during the promotion of her smash hit album Brat.

A Packed Acting Schedule

This project is a single one of many forthcoming screen roles for the star, who has appeared in three festival films this year.

What’s Next

The following year will also include the star alongside Olivia Wilde in erotic drama I Want Your Sex, Natalie Portman in gallery suspense The Gallerist, and Barbie Ferreira in horror remake Faces of Death.

Additionally, she agreed to feature in the actress’s first film as director A Tree in Blue.

Soundtrack Involvement

Next February will also bring the release of Emerald Fennell’s version of Wuthering Heights, which will feature new music from Charli.

She will also compose the score for the film Mother Mary, starring Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel, set to be released in the coming year.

The film is scheduled to debut on January 30.
